Planning a Beautiful Honeymoon for Your Wedding

A big part of planning a wedding is planning the honeymoon for after the wedding. There are so many choices, that you have to ask yourself a couple questions before making a decision. Questions like what type of honeymoon you want to take; a romantic get away, an adventure you will both remember forever, or the classic beach honeymoon, just laid back soaking up the sun. Once you have chosen the type of honeymoon you are looking for, you get to choose the location.

If you want a romantic honeymoon you could choose to go on a cruise to the Caribbean's, or Hawaii. Don't want to go that far away, you could rent a log cabin and just spend a nice cozy time together just the two of you.

Choose an adventure honeymoon and you could find yourself rafting down the Snake River or bare boating through the Grenadines. It would even be exciting to go on a guided safari tour. Mountain biking though Jamaica would be a unique experience.

If you love the big city, Las Vegas offers many things to choose from. You can enjoy fun filled hotels, the friendliest of casinos, and a number of shows that could keep you going all night. Just remember Las Vegas is always packed, no matter when you want to go, so be sure and plan ahead.

Then as mentioned before by taking the classic beach honeymoon you could wind up in Myrtle beach, Virginia beach, or the Florida Keys. You might even find yourself in Australia, what better place to enjoy the beautiful sunshine. It would also be a place the two of you would not soon forget.

Regardless of where you choose to go your honeymoon it is a very important part of beginning your life together. Enjoy every moment of it.

Top Five Places to Stay on a Luxury Honeymoon in Egypt

The sheer weight of history to be found in Egypt is awe inspiring; an experience that is much more significant if you are there with your life long partner. The longevity and magic of Egypt make it the perfect place for a holiday with your loved one, as well as the height of romance as a destination for your honeymoon. Egypt has the weather, the monuments and the excitement to make your trip the most amazing experience of your life, and if there's one holiday where you want to have the best of everything, it's this one. So we count down the top five luxury places to stay so that you can get the most from your Honeymoon in Egypt.

5. The Nile Palace, Luxor

Luxor, in southern Egypt, is the doorway to the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens. The city is built on the ruins of the ancient city of Thebes, and is steeped in legends and wonders. This makes Luxor a hub of activity and history, and the Nile Palace hotel is in easy walking distance of it all. Overlooking the Nile itself, the hotel provides for all of your Egypt honeymoon needs. The luxury gym and health club give you the chance to stay active while away, and the outdoor pool allows for romantic dips under the star-lit Egyptian sky at night. The restaurants are designed to pamper and delight you, the bars, to calm and relax you, and the rooms to make your luxury honeymoon in Egypt romantic and enchanting.

4. Oberoi Philae Cruise on the Nile

Cruising down the Nile conjures up images of thin reed boats tacking back and forth while trailing nets or cargo, but nothing could be further from the reality if you are looking for a luxury honeymoon in Egypt. We suggest the Nile cruiser Philae, a 58 suite ship designed to take you up the Nile in style and complete luxury. The suites have private shower and bathroom facilities, balconies and sun loungers, and deliberately have adults in mind, with little or no provision for children (no screaming kids to ruin your romantic trip together). The ship also has a bar and restaurant, appointed with luxury in mind and exquisite food on offer.

3. Kasr Ibrim, Lake Nasser

For those who want history and a cruising experience, but in a more out of the way setting, cruising on Lake Nasser is a must. The Kasr Ibrim is appointed in a similar way to the Philae in terms of luxury and convenience, catering to your every honeymoon need while in Egypt. It also stops at one of the lake's recovered historical sites each day (the lake is man made, and the sites were moved stone by stone to avoid their destruction) with a launch that takes visitors who want to go to each site. Holidaying on the Kasr Ibrim gives you a different take on the idea of a honeymoon to Egypt, mixing the history of the area with fewer tourist traps for luxury that's a little off the beaten track.

2. The Al Baben Shall, Siwa Oasis

For a completely secluded and authentic luxury honeymoon in Egypt, try The Al Baben, a boutique hotel by the Siwa Oasis close to the Egyptian sand sea. The oasis has been a stop over for travellers for many thousands of years, and the hotel is tucked away in the walls of Shali, at the very heart of the area. Enjoying your honeymoon in this part of Egypt means having a truly Egyptian experience; rooms are luxurious but with a rustic feel, and the rooftop restaurant serves exquisite regional food. This hotel is for those who want to be more adventurous in their honeymoon choice and wish to immerse themselves in a luxurious, but uniquely Egyptian, trip.

1. The Mena House Oberoi, Cairo.

To many people, a luxury honeymoon in Egypt means only one thing: Cairo. The mystique of the city, the power of the Pyramids at Giza and the opulence available since the time of the Pharaohs make it the perfect honeymoon destination, and the Mena House Oberoi is the peak of this perfection. A luxury hotel since 1869, it has seen its fair share of royalty and heads of state, and the luxurious suites and lounges are a testament to its exclusive history. There is 24-hour room and butler service for those who want to stay in, and excellent bars and restaurants for those who don't. The hotel also has one of the most magical views in all of Egypt; the outdoor pool is in the shadow of the Pyramids themselves - breathtaking when set against the background of an African sky. The hotel and the experience create an Egyptian luxury honeymoon that you'll remember as the trip of a lifetime.

Affordable Honeymoon Packages Ease The Budget

One man's affordable honeymoon package might be another man's budget buster. There are so many expenses for weddings that the affordable honeymoon package might not get the happy couple very far from home. Although the expenses of a wedding are substantial, there are some great affordable honeymoon packages available. One idea for an affordable honeymoon package requires getting someone else to pay for the honeymoon as a wedding gift. People often ask what the couple would like to have as a gift, and a contribution toward part of the honeymoon might be an option.

Some of the cruise ships have some very affordable honeymoon packages, and life on a cruise ship can be a great way to unwind from the hectic schedule and duties of planning a wedding. The cruise ships go to all the corners of the world so the possibilities are most attractive. There are some affordable honeymoon packages that go to the Caribbean, Alaska and Europe. A cruise on a luxury ship is always a good way to relax while visiting interesting ports of call. Sunbathing on the deck or swimming in the pool on the way to fabulous destinations is a great way to spend part of the honeymoon. There should be a cruise available for many different wedding budgets.

Affordable Honeymoon Packages Include Many Venues

Affordable honeymoon packages are available for many different goals and objectives. Those who want to go to the beach will probably find that the closer the beach the more affordable the honeymoon package. Those with a large budget might hit the beach in Tahiti while those with the smaller budget will want to go to the East Coast or the West Coast depending on the proximity to the starting point. Those who want to play golf on their honeymoon might go to Scotland if the budget permits but Phoenix if funds are more limited. There are great golf courses in both places, and some package tours available to each destination.

Honeymoon packages might be more affordable if these are booked far in advance of the departure dates. A couple might be able to arrange a house exchange to save some money on their honeymoon. There are homes available for exchange all around the world for those with a home to exchange. These exchanges often include cars and other amenities as well. This type of deal would save all funds needed for housing while on the honeymoon. Accommodations are often a large part of any honeymoon bill. A camping trip is another way to save on accommodations for those who enjoy the great outdoors.

How to Choose Your Honeymoon Destination

Although there are some magazines and advertisements available for you to look at when you are still deciding for your honeymoon destination, the most probable thing to happen to you is to select not the best for you but the most advertised destination.

Here’s how to choose your honeymoon destination, unadulterated; personalized style:

When are you going?

The first thing you have to identify when choosing your honeymoon destination is not where or how will you spend your honeymoon; but the “when”. Most honeymoon destinations have their season-highs and season-lows. These are influenced by the weather on the location. Activities and some amenities depend on in the time of the year. The number of visitor also relies on time. Some hotels and resorts are best on a particular time of the year. Some also offer special prices on a particular season. If you would want to know what you would get and the things you can do on your honeymoon, try to figure out first when will you hold your honeymoon.

What are the activities you would like to do?

Making sure you know what you want to do on your honeymoon destination will certainly make your selection easier. For example, you like to do water sports on your honeymoon; or you like have a luxurious pampering: or you want to explore culture and history; or you want to just relax and enjoy each other’s company. Knowing this will keep you on your aim to get the honeymoon destination of your choice.

Set your budget and identify the possible honeymoon destination…

The next big questions in planning your honeymoon are the budget and the destination. After you have identified the time of the year of your honeymoon, you must now set your budget. You should also have identified the your possible honeymoon destinations. Doing this at the same time will let you figure out how much money will you have to take out and how luxurious or simple your location would be.

If you have a shortlist of possible destination that fits your budget, the next you should do is identify what places offer the best accommodation, amenities, services, sights, luxury, and comfort among others. Then, choose one that is right for both of you.

Remember that the place should not necessarily be the least expensive; it should be the place where you will be able to enjoy and have fun together.

Tips to Plan for Your Honeymoon

When you are planning for your wedding, you will need to plan for all the details on your big day. In fact, you also need to plan for something after your wedding. It is your honeymoon. Traditionally the honeymoon should be planned by the groom. However, it will make more sense if both of you and your husband-to-be are planning the honeymoon together.

Planning the honeymoon together

Similar to your wedding planning, the best way to plan for your honeymoon is to plan together. Since it is the first time you two travel together as a married couple. You do not want to be disappointed during your honeymoon. As a result, it will be better if all the decisions about the honeymoon is agreed by both of you.

The Destination

There is no definite formula to choose the honeymoon destination. You should choose the destination based on both of your preferences. If both of you would like adventures, you can consider a honeymoon in Antarctica. It can be quite romantic in Antarctica when you see the little penguins on a white land. In fact I met a Japanese couple on their honeymoon when I was on the trip to Antarctica and I think this can be an excellent destination for honeymoon.

However, if you believe your honeymoon is meant to be relaxing, you may choose places like Bali as your destination. It will not be a bad idea to enjoy the sun shine on the beach. On the contrary, you may also consider places like India or Nepal if you love to explore different cultures. The key is that you should select a destination that both of you feel interested.

The Season

Another issue you have to consider is the season in your honeymoon destination. It may not be a good idea if you plan to join the hiking tour in Nepal during summer, which is the monsoon season. The season is even more important if you really choose to go to Antarctica. You can only go to Antarctica during the summer (in the southern hemisphere). Of course there will be less problem if your honeymoon destination is places with equatorial climate, such as Indonesia and northern Brazil.

The Budget

As for your wedding items, you need to consider the budget for your honeymoon. The tradition is that the groom should pay for the expenses of the honeymoon. However, I will suggest you forget all this tradition and try to plan the budget together. There is nothing wrong if both of you contribute to the expenses.

Undoubtedly, the destination will affect your expenses a lot. Traveling to Antarctica is certainly more expensive than traveling to Mexico (if you are living in the U.S.). However, you can try to save some money from your wedding items and use the extra for your honeymoon. At the end of the day the cost for your honeymoon is usually only a fraction of that of your wedding.
